William Cumming Rose graduated from Davidson College in 1907. He earned a Ph. D. from Yale University in 1911. Dr. Rose taught at the University of Illinois from 1922-1953. He helped lay the foundation of modern nutritional research by identifying the importance of amino acids as the building blocks of proteins.
